OMC metal 1 line tank pickup

I have a leaking tank pickup. It is the pin valve for the fuel shutoff. when disconnected. The repair did not work. Looking to replace it. Will a plastic duratank pickup assembly fit the mounting holes on the metal tank? Hope so as it looks like an easy, inexpensive fix. Hate to discard the tank after going thru the effort to seal the inside.

There is an o-ring or quad ring on the fuel valve.----Did you replace it ?-----I think these tanks are very good.

Yes, that was replaced but the fitting would still not seal properly, and the metal is deformed such that the brass washer will not stay in place after peening. For now, I just tapped the hole and placed a 6-48 screw in there. I would really like a shutoff so that the tank does not purge fuel while disconnected in heat.
