OMC Outdrive Swap Question

Greetings,

I am new to the forum, but searched and could not find an answer to my question. You all sound like pro's, so I'm hoping you can help! I have a 1985 Arrowglass with an OMC outdrive (800 stringer manual shift I believe). I found locally a 1979 Sea Sprite with an OMC outdrive that is supposedly in great shape. Does anyone know if this would fit my boat and if it would be electric shift or manual? They all look so similar to me and the seller hasn't responded with the model number to compare with mine. Thanks in advance for your help!!

The '79 is a hydromechanical shift drive, while yours is a straight mechanical shift, I would keep looking for a newer one (82-85), while it would fit the early ones are a POS.
