Is it woth worrying about parts becoming more scarce on an OMC Cobra drive, I have a 1986 3.0 OMC Cobra. It runs real well.

Is it possible to convert it eventually over if need be, to another kind of drive..or will I need to change the engine at that time as well?

I've had my cobra for 16 yrs now. When I go into buy a bearing or a seal or a gear etc. and they can't get it, then I'll start to worry. Until then I'll just keep running her.

DO YOU HAVE A PROBLEM FINDING PARTS? I HAVE AN OMC DEALER NEAR MY HOUSE, OTHERWISE THERE IS ALWAYS THE BOAT DEALER "LARSON" OR WHATEVER. :)

No problems at all getting parts for mine.

Either from a local Johnson dealer or from various internet outfits.

But, if that time ever comes, and you still want the boat, the Volvo conversion is the simplest, but I've heard it's not cheap.
