OMC Sea Drive/ A newbie question....

OK here we go...<br />I have a 1985/1.6L OMC Sea Drive<br /><br /> My questions is this I have 2 Hyd. rams which ram dose what?<br /> the rams are one on top of the other,the bottoms form an acute angle.<br />Is the lower the "trim"ram and the upper one the the "tilt" and lift ram? and has has nothing to to with trimming the boat out?<br />if this is the arragement I have been trying to fix a problem that dose not exist.<br /><br /> I think I get the "DUNCE" cap today.....

Bogus - The trim is the cylinder that is closest to horizontal. The tilt is the one closest to vertical.<br /><br />This is a very complex mechanism. The OMC manual divotes 46 pages to this unit.<br /><br />I that twin 1987 1.6L Sea Drives and strongly suggest that you get bothe the Service Manual (PN 507623) and the Parts Catalog (PN 985419). I got mine this year so they are still available.<br /><br />I have had mine for 9 years so far and have been very satisfied with them. They are on a very heavy 1988 23' Wellcraft CC and are run in salt water.
