Heres a weird one. just got the boat back from the shop after outdrive installation. Had to lift motor slightly to check on exhaust leak. pulled entire shift mechanism off motor intact prior to lifting engine. reinstalled everything and all shifts fine except there is no internission of engine idle while shifting. the weirdest part is that it is shifting better thean it ever did. no cluncking grinding, just smooth as silk prior to removing the assembly it was cutting out engine as advertised. Any ideas??

check all your wiring. the shift interrupt switch helps the clutch disengage not engage. it is easy to stretch a shift cable when the switch is inop.

just a note that the prop has to be in the water to have strain on it for the interupt to be useful.
