omc special tools

I try to do all my own maintainance on my 88' 5.0 omc due to a lack of confidnence in the technicians I have had experiences with. I would also like to take it a step further and do some rebuilding if necessary. Can anyone share with us the items they have used when the "special" and expensive tools were not available. Thanks in advance

When a bearing calls for being pressed on to a shaft. Heat the bearing in the oven 350-400 degrees then put shaft in freezer for awhile. The bearing usually drops on, may take a few gentle taps. If setting new bearing races, grind the little off the back of the old races and use them as a bushing driver. Can't think of any others right now.
