OMC stalling issue

I have a 1991 Forester sport 166 with a OMC 135 stern drive. The boat starts fine, idles fine and runs great at low RPM. However, as soon as I give it full throttle and it hits 3000-4000 RPM the engine will bog down and puke out. It will start right back up but does the same thing. This started last season and the issue persists. This is what I have had done to try and correct the issue:1. last year, replaced the water separating fuel filter
This year: 1. carb rebuilt. 2. new fuel pump. 3. complete engine tune up 4. new fuel line 5. added 12 gallons of fresh ethanol free gas as well as fuel stabalizer.

Problem continues despite all of this!! any suggestions as to what to do next.

Re: OMC stalling issue

Sounds like it may be starving for fuel at that RPM range. Not knowing what carb you have I would find the filter on it and clean it. There may be a filter on top of your fuel pump as well. Cleaning these filters is a good place to start.

Try running it without a gas cap. It sounds like the vent may be clogged.
