omc stern drive broken

i have a 1984 rally boat with an inboard outboard it has a omc stern drive can i replace it with a different outdrive

No, not without extensive transom work & other structural changes. Plus you'd need to change most of the engine parts & controls too. Do a search - lots of posts about this.

Note: I'm assuming you have a Stringer drive because you said it was 1984.

Ayuh,... Sure,... So long as you replace EVERYTHING, from the pulleys to the prop...

You'll also have to glass in the transom, 'n recut the hole...
