Hey folks, looking for a little guidance here..I am completely new to the boating game so please forgive my ignorance if I don't explain myself properly.
I recently purchased an 18' 84 Wellcraft Stern Drive. Previous owner swapped out the original 4 cylinder for a 4.3l v6. The original stern drive is in place, model #983487 Serial #313223. I was told that the engine needed a new starter. So i pulled the starter out and found that the whole aluminum housing on the starter was busted off. What can cause this kind of damage? The starter had the #0706-1 on it and nothing else.
