OMC SternDrive, what year?

I have an OMC Stern Drive with Model # 983488 and Serial # J381414. Can any one tell me what year this is?

Try the Ken Cook Company. They sell the manuals for the old OMC's. They were always able to identify the year from the model and serial nos. for me. Old outboard or inboard.

Any idea where to find the model number they list? I have the same numbers in the Seloc manual but can't seem to find them anywhere?<br /><br />Thanks
