OMC stringer bolsts up to what motors?

what motors bolt up to an omc stringer, and in theory a 351m and 400m should bolt up to a king cobra right? they are after all the same bolt pattern as a 460 ford for the c6 small block tranny. would be nice to here that one of those bolt on to a stringer though i highly doubt it.

I Think the Biggest Problem with doing what you wish to do is Not the Bellhousing Bolt Pattern,<br />But,<br />The Exhaust Manifolds..................

hahahhah<br /> a stringer unit will puke like a drunken sailor when you hit the throttle with a 460 ford. the cobra drive was marinal and the king cobra and Bravo # drives handled it well. dot even try the 460/stringer combo. but if you must you will need the shft coupler,manual shift flyheel and the proper bolt pattern intermediate housing. all should still be around.<br /> good luck and keep posting

Hey sport! thinkin' about puttin' your truck engine in there? when I bought this last boat, the sellar was proud and sure that it was a 351c. he was more shocked that I was when I told him it was a 302. <br />be careful about using a 'non marine' engine in your boat. If this is what you have in mind, search "auto engines" in the search engines.<br />BTW, lots of 460's in jet boats!...sl<br />P.S. I do believe the C-6 is a Big block tranny...sl

my enternet went out for a while so I couldnt check up on this tell now, thanks for the help guys, as for c6 being a bigblock tranny there are two c6s big and small block, only difference is bolt pattern, and i wasnt even thinking of putting a 460 on a stringer lol, was thinking of putting a 400m or 351m on a king cobra

you may be able to find an aftermarket 'dry' header ar even a 'wet' header. Hardin marine, http://www.cpperformance.com/products/Exhaust/hardin-exhaust.htm <br /><br />check it out.
