omc trolling motor dead

Went to the lake to day and my troller would not work battery fully charged I bought a meter this afternoon going to see where the voltage stops tommorrow after the santa show I noticed a small swith in the footcontroll maybe out or bad plug end any other ideas????

Inline fuse or circuit breaker popped? Wire come of somewhere's?<br /><br />Javelin....can you post a model number or a year and thrust? Bow mount foot control? Let us know. We can probably help.

My omc trolling motor went dead last week. I first thought it was the footswitch. I took the motor apart and one of the brushes on the stator was broken. <br />You can get parts at trollingmotorparts.com or call them 800 364-3949<br /><br />The new brushes were about $10

I got a meter and had voltage at the plug and not on the foot controll I took the plug apart and found a loose wire and some corrision. I cut off a few inches of wire and re did the plug and IT WORKS!!!!! YEAH !!!! I did want a new trolling motor thought. But christmas is not a good time for me, for this, waiting for the bill from SANTA. Thanks for the input OBJ and DD.
