I HAVE A 1987 BAYLINER WITH AN OMC V-8 ENGINE.
I OVERHEATED LAST NIGHT. I CHANGED THE IMPELER, T-STAT, AND STARTER. BATTERIES DIED ON TOP OF IT ALL. LONG STORY SHORT ENGINE WILL NOT START. CHECKED SPARK ON ALL 8, (NO PROBLEM) CHECKED PLUGS 7,8 FOR WATER(NONE FOUND). EVEN TRIED CARB CLEANER IN CARB. ENGINE TURN OVER. DOES ANY ONE HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT IT COULD BE? THANKS

When you say it does not turn over, are you saying that when you turn the key "nothing" happens?

THE ENGINE TURNS OVER, JUST LIKE AS IF IT WAS GOING TO START.

if you have points, have you checked to make sure they are not worn out; may need to be readjusted or replaced

Spark
Make it simple, for motor to run need three things.
1. Compresion, so do a compression check, If overheated could have damage pistions or stuck rings, blown head gasket. or burnt valves. Should have 125 PSI or more.

2. Fuel air mix. So squirt in some fuel.

3. Spark at the proper time.

have these 3 things and the motor will run so find which one is missing.
