I have a question regarding the OMC wiring diagram that is found here.

on the page that numbered 625 in that PDF the title is - 1977 instruments
there are wires coming form the yellow connector that is identified with a 1 the bulk of those wires are running to what is labeled "remote control connector" which is in the middle of page towards the bottom of the diagram.
what is this remote control connector ? and where would it be located in the boat?
is this the connector that is hooked up to the shift and throttle control box? or is this connection somewhere else ?
