OMC yr model by serial number?

I believe I have an 89 110 hp crossflow but the welsh plug on the block only has the serial number and not the model number. I do not have the clamp bracket. The serial number is R8257056. Can the year be determined from that? Thanks, Jim

89 model year sounds right.----110 models were basically the same year after year as far as parts are concerned.

"R" probably means a rebuilt or replacement powerhead.

1989 model----Last year they marketed this engine type as a 110 HP-----But not the last year of crossflow engine design.-----Do a compression test before spending any money on this motor !!
