? on 1986 bayliner 350 hp with 280 outdrive

hi iam new here my ? is i have a 1986 bayliner with a 350 the guy said he ran valvoline 10w 40 dura blend in it is this a good oil for this motor or should i run something else plus it has a volvo penta 280 out drive what oil should i use in it plus does this fill the same as a outboard from the bottom up or fill from top where dip stick is thanks for any help treeman

You can run 10-40 in the motor, and straight 30wt in the 280. On filling the lower, the fill plug is behind the cover that says "280"..(ALWAYS use a new gasket there). Holds about 2.8 quarts. Anyway, this needs to be moved to the I/O Forum. I will contact a mod, and have it moved..you will get better and more info there..
