On a 1996 Mercury 125hp/rebuilt lower unit

[A$$ backwards controls]

Okay, darn it. Rebuilt the lower unit, I did NOT touch the controls at all. WHat the heck should I do? Here is the problem. When you shift it in foward the prop (boat) goes in reverse and vice versa, what the heck? I even tried to put the lower unit in reverse and the contols too. no luck.Lost any help please?<br />

2 things<br /><br />Either you did not align the shifter properly when you pushed the gearcase up into place. <br /><br />Or you put the cam in backwards in the gearcase.<br /><br />TMD
