Looking for some info about On-Board charges, for a bass-boat trolling motor. I will be fishing in Canda where there is no onshore power to recharge my batteries. I know very little about these system and looking for info about how they work and what features I should look for?

Thanks for any info

2001 Nitro 882-18' with 135 hp

Re: On-Board Charger

On-board chargers require a 115VAC source, FD. That is why for my Canada trips I use big, dual purpose batteries that are charged by my outboard. Each night I switch batteries and put the "used" one on a charger in the cabin.

If you don't have access to shore power your choices are limmited to a gas generator.solar won't give you near enough power for trolling batteries. There are some setups that allow charging from your tow vehicle, but I think your boat must be on the trailer, and engine running.

Jim
