On Board flush system?

A buddy was telling me there was a system for raw water cooled engines where you hit a switch just before you shut down the engine and it pumps salt neutralizer through the engine. Is there such a thing? If so does it really work? or is it just better of to invest in a closed cooling system?

Volvo makes a system for their engines called Neutra-Salt. What engine and drive do you want to put it on?

Don, I have a 260 Mercruiser with Alpha 1 drive

Nope, that system will not work on your system, it has to be installed on the suction side of the raw water pump, and with your pump in the outdrive, that's impossible.
