one beep occasionally after engine starts

Mercury 115 EFI 2006 , it doesnt happen every time but lately more often
after i start my engine it beeps one time, what does it mean ?

The manual says that the initial beep is to tell you that your warning circuits are functioning. I'm pretty much deaf and I have never heard mine. If you have the dash light in addition it will wink for the same reason. I probably ought to have a dash light since it is easier to see than to hear it. I can hear the horn when I test it so I know it's working. I guess the beep comes and goes before my ears tell my brain they heard something. Grin

The Alarm will beep Once when the Ignition is turned on as a test of the Beeper.
This should happen every time.

A continuous Beep is the Major Failure Alarm;
Oil Pressure low, Block Overheating, Out drive Lube low.
Shut It Down NOW!

2 Beeps per minute is the Minor Failure Alarm;
It indicates that a sensor has Failed or is reading out of Range.
Get It Fixed Soon!

so maybe theres something wrong with the alarm , how can i test it ?
