I have a '95 Tracker with a 75 Mercury Tracker. Compression is great, 145,135 &135. Its not reaching WOT only 3200-3400. When you pull off the #2 saprk plug wire nothing changes, no sputter or missing like on the other two cylinders. So my question is whats next? I know to check for spark and what not but really dont know what to do after that. So any of you guys got any tips?

Check to make sure a spark is jumping to the plug.

If no, you may have a bad coil, coil-to-plug wire, or some other electric gremlin

If yes, change the plug, and see if that helps-

If yes, great!

If no, you likely have crud in the carb that's plugging up the main jet...

Well like they say always start with the easy stuff first....bad plug was the problem! Quick and easy/cheap fix!
