Alpha Gen 2 drive. Disconnected the batteries, pulled the outdrives, and a couple days later saw that one trim ram had extended by 4" all by itself. The other 3 are all compressed, the way I left them. What's going on?

Maybe trapped air in the system expanded or maintained a pressure in the system until over time it gradually pushed the piston? - Grandad

Ayuh,.... No biggie, that ram must have less internal resistance,....

Put the drive back on, 'n they'll be even again,...

Thanks, Bondo. Good to hear. I'm getting tired of rebuilding stuff I can't reach easily, like the trim pump :)

Yeah, that's what you gotta do, rebuild the trim pump, replace all the lines, and buy all new pistons.
Just kidding! :)
Though a seal inside might be leaking by it's not leaking very fast. Nothing to worry about...

LOL. Well, it's a boat, so you all know that was my first 'oh, crap' reaction! I let a week pass before I posted it because I didn't want to hear the answer

Lol....was that step 1 or 2 of the boat problem three step resolution tree?
1. Denying there is a problem.
2. Knowing the problem exists, but covering it up like a turd in the cat box, or hoping it goes away.
3. Break out another thousand....

Atleast I think it goes something like that!!
