Have a 16' runabout with a 60hp outboard. Always used a Transom Saver but found out today mine fell of or stolen. Tried to get a replacmeent unsuccessfully and have a trip 100 miles away tomorrow. Am I fine without it one time?

You live in a town without a WallyWorld?

If the skeg doesn't get close to dragging, no worries. Otherwise, stick a chunk of 2X4 under the the clamp and tie the motor down until wally.PNG appears in your windshield.

Yup, just trim it all the way up and look for the flip down thing and you are good.

The issue is leaving it down and unsupported, very hard on the transom.

With it flipped up most of the weight is over the transom rather than hanging from it

Thanks guys, it's a new Honda with power trim/tilt. Haven't noticed a flip down thing, it would definitely have one? Or just tilt all the way up and not worry?

I have a 2018 Yamaha and it has one, it flips down and rests on the top of the transom mount so look around there but tilt as far up as you can is good too
