ontario age regulation question

Well, I hope there is at least sombody from ontario here. anyway, in the regulations for boating it says that persons 12 to 15 years of age can drive over 40 hp if accompanied by someone 16 years of age and older. my question is, does the asissting person have to have a licence or not?

I would think they would have to have that boaters license.

Yes the assisting person must have a license and be in a position to take over the controls if something happens. The licensed operator is the one in charge of the boat.
