Opinion on these engines/motors?

Does anyone have any opinions about the following engines/motors: Volvo & Chevy v8, 120 Force, & 3.0 Mercruser? Good, bad, etc.<br />Thanks <br />Ana

I don't know much but I know that Force has a bad rep, big time. However alot of people will defend them to the death (mostly mechanics who don't pay 60 dollars an hour for repairs). On a different note, who DOESN'T love a chevy?

Before crysler became force, and a few years even after that...that outboard was 10 years behind in technology, compared to the other main manufacturers,. When Brunswick steped in and decided to change a couple thousand items on that engine, it became an entry-level eng. with merc's name.<br /> I will admit, I have seen a few cryslers still running, but in my opinion, and what I have seen, those engines needed 3 hours of maintenance for every 6 hours of use........
