Opinion wanted, does this need repair?

Hello all,

I recently bought a used bass boat. it appears to be in fine shape considering its age. 1995 Ranger.

This is the only damage or major issue I can find with the deck or the hull. What should I do? I was just going to fill it with more glass and resin and paint over it. Opinions?

to me....that looks like a fiberglass delamination crack due to rotted wood under a stress point.

take a screw driver and dif into the wood in the crack.....is it rotten?.....
if it is....it has to come out or it will spread.

just glassing over it wont do much the wood has to be repaired.

if im seeing the part that i think im seeing.....you could loose your compartment cover at speed.

i would rip off the rubber...and the carpet and see what is involved in replacing that piece of wood then just glass it in.
