OPINIONS NEEDED, PLEASE

Earlier I posted as I had a bad fuel problem. Well after all is said and done #3 cylinder is toast.<br />I have a 135 Mercury, 2l 1994.<br />I am dredging the internet for a remanufactured powerhead, many options. Do any of you recommend any shop that I can go to? Yes have seen the vendors on this sight.<br /><br />Also: Came across CUSTOM MACHINE SHOP INC located in Homestead Florida, they are offering a 5 yr warranty on the entire motor, not just the p/head.<br />Has anyone used them and can you vouch for their service etc.<br />Thanks

Never dealt with them, but anybody that'll give you a 5 year warranty must do pretty good work.<br />New ones don't even come with that, do they?

That is the red flag and why I was looking for opinions.<br />They want me to ship the entire motor etc.<br />The warranty is 2 years 100%, thereafter the balance would be a 50/50 split. It's attractive, but has me a little worried.<br />Aooreciate the replies.<br />Let me know if you know of a reputable powerhead supplier.

warren ask to see their warranty, actually read through it and see the outs they have. I had the exact same problem with cyl 3. I have done most the research you are about to do and found warranty's like that left major outs for the supplier. I have yet to come up with an alternative solution yet but woking on it. I am sure someone knows a good supplier but all in all you will be taking a risk all you can do is eliminate as much of that risk as you can. furthermore I recently found out you may not be limited to the exact powerhead you have find out the alternatives such as a 150 powerhead or maybe a 1995 etc is the same.<br />good luck
