Opinions Of Garmin 498

Any one have opinion after using Garmin 498? Can you view screen with polarized sunglasses?

It depends on the wave length of the sunglasses.

I've got 3 pairs of sunglasses. Two of them view LCD screens without the problem and a third pair that washes them right out.

It is a very nice unit, although by now the Charts will be outdated in some areas, and you will want to update the charts. It is a nice unit although the newer series with G2 vision is very nice as well.

As far as sunglasses, the above poster was correct. I do have somewhat of a problem viewing the unit with sunglasses if I am not looking at it straight on.
