Opinions on Legend Boats?

Hello:
Just got back from Toronto International Boat Show. My father has a tentative deal on a Legend 195 X-calibur (19.5 feet) merc 115 4 stroke. I've never heard of this company. The boat looked really good. They are welded aluminum made in Sudbury Ontario. I have about one day to figure out if these boats are any good before the deal is final (deal must be final by the end of the show to get the show deal). Any opinions or observations on the boats would be much apprecitated. All searches have turned up very little info so far. Thanks for any input.
Pete.

Re: Opinions on Legend Boats?

Rest assured he made a good choice. Legends have an excellent reputation for quality and durability. Based on some of the Legend owners I've spoken to around the Ottawa area they seemed very pleased with their purchase.

They(Legend) have one of the best websites I've ever seen.

I Believe the model you mention is one of the newer ones, but I'm all for "all welded" construction. I hope Princecraft makes the move to all weld soon.

As for the Merc 115 EFI, hey it's a 4 stroke, and essentially a Yammie under the hood, so what have you got to woory about ? Not much.

Te only downside I've ever seen on a Legend package was that the winch on the trailer wasn't adequate(too small) for the weight and size of boat.

Just make sure they don't skimp on the trailer and winch.

Re: Opinions on Legend Boats?

Thanks Jacques321, I feel a bit better now. This model does appear to come with a pretty good winch. I heard, second-hand, from a Princecraft dealer that Legend has had a lot of problems with their hulls warping!! He's the competition, that's is what he is supposed to say. I'm no engineer but they look pretty sturdy to me.
Thanks again.
Pete.
