Hi Gang I have a 1998 Optimax 150 and I have two issues/questions: The water pressure gauge in the dash stop working and coincidentally the temp light on the warning system doesn't flash on initial check. However the light also does not come on while running and there is no warning horn. Q1: I disconnected both ends of the watertube to the dash gauge and blew through it and it was wide open and clear. When I reconnected it to the gauge and blew from the motor and I couldn't get it to read at all. Can someone confirm that they believe the gauge is shot. I only blew into it by mouth. Q2: Should the water temp light flash with the other three on initial check? If so any advice on how to go about fixing this issue and making sure it is functioning? Thanks as always D

I am not sure if you can make the gauge move by blowing into it by mouth. Gauges do go bad, usually if they have water in them and then freeze. I cannot comment on the function of the Optimax warning signals, as I have no experience with them. What does the owners manual say?

I'm bumping this since they move down the line so quickly. I'm hoping a mercury guru can jump in. I can buy a cheap water pressure gauge but the temp warning light not flashing at initial check scares me. Owners manual is pretty silent on this. It has a solid telltale although it takes half a minute or so to start pissing, even after shutting down and starting back up after a few mins. Thanks!
