I have a 2005 Mercury Optimax 175. Between 700 and 1000 rpms my engine runs fine. Between 1000 and 2100 rpms the motor misses so bad the increase in speed is nonexistant. Over 21oo rpm's the motor seems to run perfectly all the way to wot. The motor is running 10 mph at 2000 rpm's, but when throttle is increased to 2100 the rpm's jumped to 2500 rpm's. I cannot reduce the trottle without the missing returning.
I have replaced the sensor that tells it it is overheating, replaced the sparks plugs and still have not solved the problem. I don't know what to do next. The motor is rebuilt and has only 20 hours on it. All codes have been removed and no new codes have been sent to the computer.
