Options to get boat from Chic to Boston?

I am considering buying a 20 ft boat on a tandem axle trailer in Chicago and bringing it to Boston. Any options besides (1)driving my vehicle out and back,(2)flying out renting a u-haul truck and hauling it back? How about a trucking service? How much per mile (1000 miles)? Any ideas, thanks in advance.

Trailer it west on rte. 88 to Davenport, launch in the Mississippi River, follow south to the Gulf of Mexico, east through the FL Keys, north ICT, through Cape Cod canal to Boston.

How would he have gotten the trailer to Boston?? Maybe leave it strapped to the boat??
