Options to run A/C

I have been looking at some older (limited fixeruppers) 24 to 26 foot pocket cruisers. Air conditioning is an absolute - either for just a short escape from the heat or to spend the night. I have found many with A/C but very few with generator. All are set up to run on 'shore power' which I will not have. The boat will be kept on a trailer. Is there a way to run A/C without a generator, either using a small portable generator (I am aware of CO poisoning issues) or through adding a bunch of batteries or is there a way to permanently mount a generator similar to how such equipped boats come from the factory?

A Honda portable 2000 watt should run the A/C on that class of boat. I have no experience with it, but I've been looking at pocket cruisers myself and have had discussions with owners who have used such a generator for A/C power.

Yup. No personal experience here, either... but a lot of folks are using them. There really is no alternative- you either use shore power or you have a genny.

You are SERIOUS about keeping cool, when you have a system that blows into a jacket! That guy has a lot of
Time on his hands.

A lot of folks pretend their a/c keeps them cool. I'm not one of them.
