Ken Cook now wants almost 75 dollars for the older servive manual reprints. Last year it was only 40 dollars. I guess after all of the free press they were getting here. The laws of supply and demand took over. I think I will try my luck with Seloc or Clymer.

stl, are you looking for your 10/7.5hp? As I've just recently learned, the older (before '65) Johnson manuals were all stuffed into one large book which Ken Cook charges $75 for. Here's an alternative:
acmeoutboards.com/

I ran into the same thing for my '82 Johnson V6 - a huge, expensive book with many years and model numbers - and large shipping expense on top of that unless I wanted to wait 3 weeks.

I found a reasonably priced OEM shop manual on EBay. I recommend you try that route as well.
