out drive help

i have a 82 searay with a 260 merc , it has a pre alpha drive on it .can someone tell me if the outdrives have a limit to the hp they can handle ?

my motor is in bad shape and i was thinking of replaceing it it with a motor that had between 320 - 360 hp .

300Hp is the rated max for such drives.

thanks for your help willybwright . do you know if the alpha or bravo drives will handle over 300 hp ?
