outboard and 4.3 use same prop?

I run an 87 Dixie with a 4.3 v6 that is currently over propped at 23 pitch. I have a mercury 150 (1985) black Max xr 2 that I took off of a rotten boat that happens to have a 19 pitch on it. Also stainless if I'm not mistaken. Could this prop be used on my outdrive? I think I'm going with a 17 pitch aluminum 4 blade but I'd like to throw this prop on when its just me and one buddy and we want a little more speed.

All Mercury V-6 outboards(except the XR-6) use the same size(4-3/4") gear case as the the Mercruiser Alpha 1 and Bravo 1 stern drives.

Measure the diameter if the prop hub to see if it's 4-3/4". If it's the smaller 4-1/4" hub size it won't work because exhaust gases will escape over the prop hub into the prop.

Thank you sir. I will check that out to see if its a useable option for me. If it fits I may try the 19 before I buy anything.
