If this gets posted,I'll be shocked since it will be the 4th time I've tried.. Anyhow, I have 50hp l986 Force which will start and idle fine, but the moment I try to accelerate it dies Unless I hold the choke closed.. ?????
Sound like it is running lean to me.<br /><br />Maybe adjustment, maybe rebuild the carb time.<br /><br />Perhaps a fuel filter.<br /><br />Just my thoughts.
boating fool <br /> thanks for the info on how to get to my posts I'm kind of new to this thing.<br /> Anyway I've tried cleaning the carb and the fuel filter to no avail. I can only find one adjustment screw on the carb and that is for slow speed. I guess I will try and rebuild both and see what happens!<br /> Thanks again!
Yes rebuild!!!<br />Not clean.<br /><br />I think cleaning is o.k. for routine maintenance but once you start having problems a rebuild is the best road to take.<br /><br />No problem with the help on posts!!
