Outboard Extention Kit

I'm Looking for a shaft Extension Kit for a 87' Force 85HP engine. I just picked the engine up and it's in GREAT shape, but the shaft is too short for my boat. I won't cut down the transom, as I won't have the strength in the stern if I do. Anyone know where to find any 3rd party kits that may work????

Don't know where you can find kit but was wondering for price if you considered installing jackplate on transom.

Thanks for replying. No, I didn't consider one and have never used a jackplate, but I think it will work. You know any good ones and what questions to ask or qualities are important when looking?

Check out marineengine.com and click on cook outboard jackplates. Should give you general idea of designs that will best suit your rig.You can likely find local marine dealer to obtain one of what ever price range and brand you decide to go with
