Need to replace my motor bracket on 22' sailboat, starting to look pretty sad after being on the boat for 20+ years. The motor to be mounted on this bracket is a 5HP 4-stroke weighing 57 lbs.

In looking at new brackets, I am getting confused. Some say "not for 4 stroke", yet it can handle up to 115 lbs. Are their some other bracket design considerations that warrant a special "4 stroke bracket?"

Thanks

Rick

Re: outboard motor bracket

for your smaller motor, i wouldnt worry bout it. they say that to cover the larger ones such *** the 9.9 or the 15hp 4strokes. youre fine. go for it.

by the way, wanna sell that old one of yours? or trade? email me
