not to berate this poor guy( I posted a picture of this set up in the trailer discussion a while back), but does anyone else think the benefits of the set back given on this offshore set up are negated by the fact the motor is MOUNTED SO LOW. Normally with set back you can have the skeg much higher than the bottom of the hull. but on this set up with NO JACK PLATE( visible) it seems the skeg is much lower than the plane of the bottom of the hull.

I realize that in our non perfect world people can buy a monster boat and stuff it was buko horsepower and not notice that it could be going 10 mph faster...because going 50 MPH ...is just fine with them

I am pretty sure SETBACKS were a trick of the boat racers...that got incorporated in everday boats....although I could imagine that many people add the brackets for the extra room they provide in the boat

the bottom of the pod is above the bottom of the hull, and it looks like the anti-vent/cav plate is possibly about even w/ the hull bottom.

not 100% sure, but the bottom of the hull at the keel also looks like it's not a typical slight V at the transom

w/out more info, I wouldnt swear that Yammy does or does not have a power trim adjustment, but it doesn't look like it in this 1 pix

The other bad thing is that he has made if difficult to fish off the transom of that boat. The only thing you are sure to catch is the motor.
