outboard oil mix

i have a quart of some very good 2 stroke semi synthetic oil left from a motorcycle i had. can i use it in my 15hp evinrude? thanks kc

Can you? Sure, it's your boat, captain. Should you? Entirely diffferent question. Would be reckless to advise anyone to do something non standard. Another question is how new is the motor. If it's still under warranty you'd be foolish to do anyting that goes against the manufacturers specs. Difference between getting away with something vs suffering no damage. Never know if you cause some condition that may shorten the life of the motor. Invisible damage, so to speak.

two types of 2 stroke oil, one for air cooled motors and one for water cooled motors. Maybe your cycle was air cooled? In any event, better stick with the Marine Specified TCW-3 oil only...why take a risk?
