Outboard Pads

would thin car mats work as transom pads for outboards? I saw a set of cobalt blue ones that would look really sharp, just dont know if they have to be super tough or not for that sorta duty, they were roughly the right size tho<br /><br />arent car mats pretty tough stuff?

ummmm ... its been a while since ive perused the new boat showrooms, they still use those pads under the motors, dont they?<br /><br />
