I have a 200 HP Merc. with a San Leandro Jet pump.

I drove it for about two miles and then turned it off. The starter would not turn the motor over.

It seems the bolt on the impeller backed off a little and the impeller is touching the shoe insert.

I had the same thing happen on a 150 HP Force motor I have with the same jet pump.

The shop put the impeller bolt on the Force when it did this.

For some reason the impeller bolt seems to want to back off just a bit on these. When I adjust the impeller to the insert. I use about six thousands of an inch all the way around the impeller.

Has anyone else had this problem? And what did you do to fix it?

Also. where is a good place to advertise to sell the 150 HP Force with a San Leandro Jet pump that is in very good condition. I have noticed Iboats does not have a place to sell these.

My unit uses a tab washer to lock the nut once torqued. This washer has a "D" shaped hole in it to fit the shaft. Torque down the nut on top the washer and bend over the tab to lock.

Mine has the same washer.

I will try to torque it down a bit tighter. May be that will help.

Hi homeseller
Do not over torque. Use recomended specs. Buy a new tab washer do not reuse the old one. Be sure to bend the tab over the flat on the nut, not the point. Sorry I don't know the torque spec off the top of my head. I know 5-6 bucks for a washer is a pain.

Be carefull when you bump that nut and washer combo up that none of those washers are hanging up on a thread on the shaft. 6 thousanths is too tight. Spec is .016 to .030 if I recall correctly.
