I posted on outboard topics, but historically they are slow replying. I have finally sold my old tri hull and need to get it cleaned up and ready to go.
Can anyone tell me what the proper gas/oil mix is for a 77 Johnson 70hp outboard?
Also the proper plug gap for the same?

Thanks so much. I must have been thinkin of something else when I mixed it 16:1. Probably why it is smoking so much.

You waited 14 minutes, DD.

This is not a chatroom. If 14 minutes is "historically slow" you have unrealistic expectations.

Re: Outboard topics

My mistake.
I didn't mean slow today. Long long ago I posted on a different outboard problem a question there and it took a day or two to get the excelent well informed answer I was looking for. Not a problem normaly.
For some reason I never thought of this one as being outboard non repair.
I figured this would get moved but was crunched for time and didn't think it would hurt anything. Will try to make it to the right forum next time.
Thanks for the great advice too, it is amazing how good it runs now that I have the right oil mix. Runs great and I think I have it sold.

No worries, DD. :)

It is a nuisance and takes several minutes to move a post.

This one could have gone either way. . .Troubles or Non-Repair.
