Outdrive barb question

Guys there is a 90 degree barb in the outdrive by the zinc- the hose goes to it is a tiny hose that follows the water line. What is this? It can't be the outdrive oil reservoir hose as that is a much thicker hose thats on the opposite side.

I sounds like the line for the speedometer.

Yep, speedo tube attachment point. Be sure the line that leads up to the speedo is attached at the transom barb inside or you will get water squirting on the engine. Don't ask how I know this.

Got it thanks guys! I just did my Bellows and replaced my Shift cable and while adjusting i know with it in forward gear it should lock- which it does. But in reverse I can spin it and i can feel it skip over the tooth or whatever is in there- does this mean it needs adjusting on the mounting piece? Thanks!
