I have an Alpha Gen II without a gear lube resevoir I want to know which side of the of the gasket to use. One side has three holes and the othe has two. I checked my merc manual and it shows a gasket without a hole if you dont have a resevoir. Do you just flip the seal over and use the othe side? My drive has what looks like a brass ball on the face of it where the gasket hole lines up I am wondering since I dont have a resevoir should I block it or install it with the hole on the right side(if you are looking at it)??? Or does it even matter? Thanks and I appologize for what may be a stupid question.<br />PS The gasket kit I have is Sierra part # 18-2619-1 Says it replaces 27-64818A3 and 27-94996Q2

Re: Outdrive Gasket Position????

Install the gasket exactly as if there was a gear lube monitor. Side with 3 hole to starboard.
