outdrive info

i have a 92 searay with a 3.0 mercruiser in it i dont know what type outdrive is on it . is there some numbers or something that are on the outdrive that will tell me what kind it is (alpha, gen1, gen2)

Serial number is usually on port side of drive and will tell for sure. The stickies have info on how to determine the drive as well.
