outdrive leak

I have a 2001 2359 trophy, had a new engine put in 8 months ago its a 5.0 mercruiser 5.0 and I do believe I have an out drive leak maybe from the boot I am really not sure. I use a shop vac to get the water out and it starts coming back in from the out drive area, the water level never gets any higher than water level line while in the slip but once out in open water it seems to come in more quickly HELP also need a good mechanic in long beach.

Have you tried opening the engine compartment and looking? That is the ONLY way you are going to find where it is coming from. We can help you fix a leak, but from here we can't see where it's leaking. We can give suggestions of places to look, but that's it.

You in California?

While on the trailer put water into the bilge with the plug in maybe you can see where the water is coming from.

Could be a boot, water hose or any other hull penetration. really need to look for it.

Ayuh,...

The exhaust flappers Burnt Up the last time you had an Overheat,+ the little shaft fell down into your Y-pipe, then wearing a Hole thru it....
