outdrive leaking oil?

hello everyone,
i have a 82 4winns with a 470 merc and what i think is a mc1 drive.Stored the boat all winter in the driveway and noticed this spring that where the water inlets are on each side of the drive,there was oil leaking out.had the drive leak tested last summer and checked fine.where could the leak be?thanks for any input thdog

Check the fluid in the drive.Check for water.If the oil is old change it.How much of a leak?1-2 drops a half pint?It's possible it's just carbon draining thru or it wasn't winterized correct.Let us know how much oil and do the tests.Jerry

after further investigation i found about a cup of water in gear oil.it looks like oil is leaking at the parting line of gear case and upper housing around the o-ring.is the o-ring the only thing that seals it?
