outdrive off for winter

hey guys<br /><br />Bad day -- boat came out for the winter -all winterized and shrink wraped and in my driveway.<br />I do have one question-- the outdrive came off and is being stored for the winter - do I need to cover the bell housing/Transom sheild. The mechanic said you do not need to cover it. last year I used a different guy and he put a cover on it. which way is right?????<br /><br />Thanks<br />Cool It

at lest put a rag in it to keep the dirt out, but it don't need to be sealed

A cover is available for it, check the back of mags like Powerboat.<br />Really cheap.<br />I just use a rag.
